Images and files you can add again without uploading the same material repeatedly.
Manage Assets
The Assets library stores reusable images and files you have given Castaly. Use it to keep reference material available across Projects and conversations.
The Assets library is not the Project’s internal file system. It only shows your saved reference material, not the files generated inside a Project.
What the Assets library is
Section titled “What the Assets library is”The library shows your own uploaded material.
Deleting an Asset from the library does not rewrite Projects that already used it.
Open Assets
Section titled “Open Assets”You can open the Assets library from any composer that supports attachments.
From Home
Open the
+menu in the Home composer, then choose Assets. From Project Chat
Open the
+button in Project Chat, then choose Assets.
Images and Files tabs
Section titled “Images and Files tabs”Assets are split into two tabs, each accepting its own formats:
PNG, JPG / JPEG, and WEBP.
PDF, Markdown (.md), TXT, and HTML.
Within each tab, items are grouped under Today and Earlier, and the most recently uploaded ones appear first inside each group.
Upload to the library
Section titled “Upload to the library”Each tab has an upload tile at the top.
Choose a tab
Use Images for screenshots or visual references. Use Files for documents, notes, or specs.
Upload
Click Upload image or Upload file, then choose files from your device.
Wait for upload
The tile shows Uploading… while the file is being saved.
Uploading here saves the file to your Assets library immediately. It does not automatically add the file to the current composer.
Add Assets to the composer
Section titled “Add Assets to the composer”To use saved Assets in a message or new Project, select them and add them to the composer.
Select one or more Assets
Click an image or file to select it. The footer shows how many items are selected.
Click Add
The selected Assets are added to the current composer as attachments.
Send the message
Castaly uses the Assets only after you send the message or create the Project.
Download or delete Assets
Section titled “Download or delete Assets”Every item supports actions for download and delete.
Download a single item to your device.
Remove a single item from your Assets library.
Storage usage
Section titled “Storage usage”The top of the Assets library shows your storage usage.
Only uploaded files count toward your storage.
Use View plan to check your plan and storage limits.
If storage is full, uploads may fail until you delete files or upgrade your plan.
What the library doesn’t do
Section titled “What the library doesn’t do”The Assets library is a lightweight place to keep reusable material, not a full file manager. It does not support:
- Search
- Bulk download or bulk delete
- Folders or tags
- Rename or move
- Share links
- Version history or permissions
To bring material into a new Project, add it to the composer and press Send — see Add References to a Project.
