The + button starts a fresh, blank thread inside the current Project. It gives you a clean conversation without creating a new Project.
Manage Conversations
A Project can contain multiple conversations. Each one is a thread inside the same Project, so you can start fresh when a topic needs space or return to an earlier thread when you want to continue from previous decisions.
Switching conversations does not switch the Project. The Spec, Graph, Preview, and Project state always stay tied to the current Project.
The Chat toolbar
Section titled “The Chat toolbar”The toolbar above the messages has two controls:
The History button opens this Project’s conversation list, with the active thread highlighted.
When to start a new conversation
Section titled “When to start a new conversation”Start a new conversation when you want a cleaner thread without losing the Project context.
- Explore a separate direction.
- Ask Castaly for a clean review.
- Split a large topic away from the main thread.
- Keep unrelated feedback out of the current conversation.
The new conversation still belongs to the same Project. Castaly keeps the same Spec, Graph, Preview, and publish state in view.
When to reopen an earlier conversation
Section titled “When to reopen an earlier conversation”Use History when you want to return to a thread that already has useful context.
- Continue a paused direction.
- Return to earlier product decisions.
- Check what was discussed before.
- Pick up after leaving the Project.
Reopen an earlier conversation
Section titled “Reopen an earlier conversation”Open History
Click the History button. The panel shows this Project’s conversations, with a title, a preview of the last message, and when each one was updated.
Review the list
Find the thread you want to restore. The current conversation stays active while you scan the list.
Double-click to restore
Double-click the conversation you want. Castaly restores its messages and closes the panel. A single click won’t switch — that’s deliberate, so you don’t lose your current thread by accident.
Keep going
The conversation is back exactly where it was. Send your next message and continue.
When you return to a thread, you can pick up naturally:
- “Continue where we left off.”
- “Summarize the last decisions before we keep going.”
- “What still needs my decision?”
- “Show me what changed since the last preview.”
What stays the same
Section titled “What stays the same”Starting or restoring a conversation changes the Chat thread, not the Project.
You stay inside the Project you already opened.
The source of truth on the right remains the current Project Spec.
The visual structure still reflects the current Project.
The running Preview and Project state do not change just because you switch threads.
